Here are the boxes as delivered by UPS. Very heavy!
This image shows the tripod legs and head. I was kind of surprised as to their size and weight.
Here is an image of the legs with a CD Jewel case for scale.
Assembly was very easy (the instructions are still I the other box). One thing that is very apparent is the angle of the legs. They are very spread out for more stability. That, along with the weight, should prove to make this Meade's most stable yet.

Height from floor to mounting plate while fully retracted is 29".

Here is an image with the legs fully extended. The height from the floor to mounting plate while fully extended is 40.5".
Now to unpack the OTA. I was a bit surprised at the packaging. The packaging was just plastic bags filled with packing foam. Granted this is very stable for shipping but it will not stand up to day to day use (in my opinion anyway). I guess I'll be looking for a more suitable home for my scope (was thinking of those ones with wheels anyway).
Well there it is. hmm now to lift it out.
Here's a closer shot of the OTA assembly in the box.
Here is the box with all the accessories.
WOW.. I really had a hard time getting it out of the box. I am a fairly strong guy and I had to strain to lift this telescope. I would definitely think twice on buying anything larger if you plan on mounting it yourself. I was very surprised that I had a hard time with it. I am glad aperture fever didn't get the best of me because a 12" probably would have been too much.
Here are the mounting screws at the top of the rear cell. The screws that sit back a way are for finder scopes.
Here is a shot of the bottom mounting screws. I'm hoping these are compatible with the Losmandy plates.
Close up of the lower control panel. Nothing new here.
Here's a shot of the rear cell.
Man is that eyepiece a big sucker!
From left to right, top to bottom: USB Cable, finder mount, finder scope, 2" diagonal, 24mm eyepiece, hand controller (V 1.0f), visual back, and controller holder
All assembled and waiting for the weather to clear!
Here is a close-up of the tripod head. The measurements are as follows:

A = 6 1/8"
B = 2 15/16"
C = 2 9/16" (Center to Center)
D = 7 1/2"
The plate thickness is 1/2"
